Crafting digital hype For the latest VR event

The challenge

With virtual reality tech staged to become an increasingly prevalent part of everyday life. Portal 2025 aimed to showcase the latest VR innovations, industry developments and thinking, in one, all-encompassing event, where investors, creators, developers, and enthusiasts could gather to explore the cutting-edge of this exciting industry.

The founders of Portal needed a website that reflected the ambition of the company; a site that clearly communicated the different aspects of the event, with the central goal of generating hype amongst potential investors, future ticket buyers and leading industry figures.

brave new virtual worlds

The Portal website is driven by the metaphor of "Portals as windows into new worlds." marrying the capabilities of VR technology with the exciting newcomer position of Portal as a brand.

The design intentionally leans into motion to mirror the experience of travelling through multiple portals. Allowing users to engage with the VR experience leading up to the event, and showcasing Portal's intentions from the first impression.
